About Pomskies
How Big Do Pomskies Get?
Pomskies are heavy for their height, solidly built, with moderate bone density. Adult Pomskies fall into one of three size categories- micro, mini, or standard.
Different Coat Types
Pomskies have a double-coat, with a dense soft undercoat and a top coat of straight guard hairs. These coats protect the sensitive skin in both hot and cold weather, acting as an insulating layer.
Pomsky Temperament
The temperament of each Pomsky can differ. Overall, Pomskies are intelligent, fiercely loyal, and playful. They are good-natured and curious, which makes them easily teachable. They enjoy spending time with their owners and make devoted companions for people with an active to semi-active lifestyle. Pomsky energy levels can vary, but they generally tend to be medium-energy dogs, making them suitable for life in the city and suburbs. They are affectionate and social, doing well with other dogs and children. Like most dogs, Pomskies thrive on proper training. Our goal is to produce a middle-ground temperament, dogs that can go on a jog with you but still be able to wind down with you at night and watch tv on the couch.
Do Pomskies Shed?
Pomskies shed! We recommend brushing Pomskies of all coat types regularly. Wooly Pomskies shed the least often until they blow their coats, which occurs about twice a year, and why shedding is minimal throughout the year. Plush coats tend to shed slightly more than wooly coats. Standard coats shed throughout the year. We recommend a high-quality pin brush, a slicker brush, and an undercoat rake. Never use a Furminator on a Pomsky. This type of brush has a blade that will cut your Pomskies' guard hair! NEVER shave a Pomsky, and avoid any tool that cuts guard hairs. Once cut, they do not grow back the same. Pomskies should not be bathed more than once a month unless necessary, bathing your Pomsky too frequently will dry out their skin.

Pomsky Colors & Patterns: Our Dogs In Every Shade
-
Black & White
One of the most classic Pomsky looks, black and white Pomskies typically feature stark contrast with defined husky masks and markings - the shade of black can vary.
-
Blue
Blue Pomskies are a dilute version of black, giving them a soft, smoky gray-blue coat. They typically have a matching blue or gray nose.
-
Red
Red Pomskies can vary in shade, with a coat color ranging from light red (almost orange) to a darker, almost copper hue.
-
Gray
Gray Pomskies can range from light to dark shades of gray, often with faint warm undertones and soft black shading.
-
Wolf Gray
Wolf gray Pomskies exhibit a beautiful blend of gray, cream, and beige tones, giving them a natural, wild look.
-
Silver
Silver Pomskies have a white undercoat and lack warm tones associated with other gray variations. The coat is banded with white or silver, and black may only tip the guard hairs.
-
Agouti
Agouti Pomskies have wild-type coloring with banded hairs that create a grizzled, wolf-like appearance and their masks are usually muted.
-
Piebald
Piebald Pomskies are white with patches of color typically located on the head, body, and base of the tail. Unlike symmetrical husky masks, piebald markings are random and varied.
-
Black
Solid black Pomskies have deep, rich coats that may have minimal white or no markings at all.
-
Tan Point
Pomskies with tan points display rich rust or caramel markings above the eyes, on the cheeks, chest, and legs.
-
Merle
Merle Pomskies have patches of darker pigment scattered over a lighter background color of the same pigment. These patches can vary in size and distribution, resulting in a distinctive dappled or marbled appearance.
